Notice of Race

Rules: The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing.

Eligibility: The regatta is open to Class C, Class MC, and Class X scows

Venue: Oconomowoc Community Center, 324 W Wisconsin Ave., Oconomowoc, WI 53066. The racing area will be on the west end of Lac La Belle.

Registration:

  • Register online HERE
  • Entry Fee: C Scow $95, MC Scow $75, X Boat $50
    • Special Rate for under-age-25 C Scow and MC Scow Skippers: $60
    • Special Rate for MCSA members: $65
    • Entry fee includes Saturday and Sunday breakfast and lunch for skipper and crew and Saturday evening social event
  • ** Late fee - if registration received after midnight May 4: add $20
  • Extra lunches for thirds, spectators, etc. $10 in advance, $15 on site (limited quantity)
  • Regatta T-shirt: $20 if ordered at time of online registration, $25 on site (limited quantity).

 

Launching:

  • Launch and check-in Friday night 4-8PM or Saturday before 9AM at Lac La Belle Public Boat Launch, City Park, W. Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Oconomowoc
  • There will be volunteers and taxi boats available.
  • All competitors should bring an anchor and buoy, and plan to moor in 5-15 feet of water
  • Trailers must be unhitched and parked at the designated trailer parking area in the grass on the west side of the Public Launch Ramp.
  • No trailer parking nor parking for dry sailing nor overnight parking allowed in the public launch parking lot.

 

Schedule:

Friday May 19

    • 4-8PM: Check-in and Launch at Lac La Belle Public Launch

Saturday May 20

    • 0700-0900: Check-in and Launching continues
    • 0900: Competitor’s meeting. Community Center lawn and via VHF Radio on Channel 69.
    • 1000: Warning for Race 1, subsequent races to follow

Sunday May 21

    • Time of first warning TBD by Race Committee (check your email / text / radio / Notice Board for announcements)

 

Racing:

  • Four Races are scheduled
  • One race must be completed to constitute a regatta
  • All races will be scored with no throw-outs. This modifies RRS A2.1

 

Spectator Boats:
Spectator and tow boats will be provided as part of the regatta. Please let us know how many people will need a spectator boat while checking-in onsite.

Trophies:
Awarded to top 5 places from each fleet following completion of all racing.

Sailing Instructions:

Appendix S "Standard Sailing instructions" will be used. A Supplement to the Standards Sailing Instructions will be made available to all competitors on the regatta website at labelleyachtclub.org after May 1.

Notices to Competitors:

  • Notices to Competitors will be made available via the Tune-Up Regatta website HERE
  • Signals made ashore will be made from the Race Committee Flag Boat while docked at Regatta Headquarters
  • On Friday May 19, any changes to the Sailing Instructions, the Schedule, Notices to Competitors, or this NOR will be communicated by group email to all registered competitors prior to 2000 hours. This replaces Code Flag Lima and changes RRS 90.2(c).

Social:

  •  Immediately after Saturday races, all participants and LYC members are invited to enjoy a post-sailing dinner get together at the home of Colleen and Paul Moran, 632 W. Glenview Ave, Oconomowoc.
